alt bracket still not right

Default alt bracket still not right

alright im still having problems with my bracket..i think i found a fix but now my tensioner is in no use. so i remade one out of wood to see how it fit it looks alright belt dosnt hit the thermostat anymore. do i use a diffrent tensioner?

you can use the stocker, just make the bracket correctly and you'll be good, it took me a a friend a few times of welding and cutting new brackets out of home depot steel to get it right. Hope this helps....& good luck!!

yeh im gonna have to keep trying..woods cheaper than steel right

Copy the one I made, it works great and never chews/throws belts..

it runs fine with the belts at that angle and close together. stock tensioner too?

yea true lol or you could always buy one for like $100 from a sponsor or some company....depends on how well you know ur stuff...

yeh i know just started it the other day i'll see if i can put up with it now..its a lot cheaper to make than 100 bucks when u know someone of course

for that bracket you have i have seen other people route the belt differntly and use an idler for it as well.

In that pic the belt is there for routing only -- there's no tension on it.. When you have the proper belt on it, there's about an inch or so clearance... Its been running fine for thousands of miles on the original belt, so I'd wager there isn't any issues

Hey brains, do you remember what length belt you used? I might end up moving mine also, just tring to get an idea.

Here is my bracket




Looks like you are trying to make something similar to what I have. The stock spring tensioner worked great with my bracket, but I scored a deal on a Katech/thunder racing tensioner and went with that.

yeh thats what the original ones like but sits to far to the left so the angle isnt straigh enough i worked on it today and think i go it working now

frce, that tensioner setup looks great, very cool how it incorporates the stock tensioner. Did you make it?
