Any homemade/jk yard turbo builders in here?
Im wanting to do a homemade single turbo on my 94 Z28 LT1. Maybe with a Cummins, Powerstroke, or Duramax turbo.... I found THIS TURBO SITE Its called turbomustangs but they have sections for Mopar and Chevy too, Lots of good reading there..So anyone building anything like this in here?

Yep, mine is home built.
1995 LT1 Z28. 388, 8.4/1, AFR210, 224/236-114 cam, etc. . .
T-76GTS turbo, SLP shorty unmodified on passenger side, 2.5" crossover pipe, 3" log on driver's side, 3" downpipe, 3.5" I pipe and cat-back. 3" cold-side piping, custom Bell water/air intercooler. All accessories, including stock fans and battery, kept and reside in stock location.
Results: 9.92 at 146 mph at 17 psi boost and full weight (3700 lb) through the muffler on radials. 695 rwhp through a TH350 and loose converter.

i am doing a twin TO4B set up on my '65 Lemans. it will be a blow through carb setup using some modified exhuast manifolds and a carb hat on my .030 455. i plan to use either SNOW or nitrous as my intercooler at the track. i am following instructions from other guys who have done this. it is a quick and easy way into the nines and i still get to keep it 100% streetable. if i back half it and turn the wick up i may even get 8's out of it. if it all works as planned a may try it on my '97 T/A. cool thing about it is i have ALOT of room under the hood of that Lemans to work with.

Long time reader, but this is my first post...
I have a DIY remote turbo on my 5.0 Explorer. There is alot of good information at Turbomustangs, just be ready to be flamed if you ask simple questions before you search the site..

I'm on my third junkyard build. The first two were with an old Holset H2D that worked well when it was alive. I didn't bother rebuilding it, and it ultimately died.
I'm well into my Holset H1E project. The turbo has 0 miles on a rebuild, so it should be around a while. You can save a lot of money if you build your own and do it right. You may make a few mistakes that cost you the first time around. Learn from the others on this board and you should be able to put together a good low-cost sytem that works.
