What heads should i get?

Question What heads should i get?

I want to lower my CR to something like 9:1 so my question is what heads should i buy? thanks.

317 casting heads have a 72cc chamber..... that's your cheapest route

and so you can figure the actual static compression out...

OK, where can i get them, Complete with good springs and stuff would be nice Doesn´t anyone sell them ported and ready?

Best heads IMO would be either AFR 220's or a set of TFS heads done by Lyod Elliot. A buddy of mine just got the TFS heads from LE, and when put on the flow bench, their numbers were AMAZING.

I like my AFR 225's 72cc on my 346. Very nice flow throughout lift, not just at the top. Dished pistons are probably where you'll want to go to lower that CR.

I got the same 225 AFRs on my 408 and yes very nice flowing heads and great power but $$$$$$ paid over 2k for mine new from scoggin dickey

For the cheapest I would go with a set of stock LQ9 heads. Middle range in price go for the patriots, and top of line the AFR or ETP heads.

OK, thanks for the answers...

With heads, what kind of boost/power can i make if the rest on the engine is stock?

Going to do more to the engine but that will happen later

keep an eye on the sales section. I got my 317 heads with 918 springs + titanium retainers for about 360$ shipped.

317 wont get u to 9:1 C/R . u will be at 9:4-9:5 c/r . I Just order a set of cometic custom gasket 0.065 thikness that will drop the c/r more. also doing some porting will lower ur C/R.

I just used a stock pair of 317s with Patriot dual springs. I just sold them too. Only 300 miles on the heads and springs for $500

ask for the casting number.

the ls6 heads doesn't come with a 72cc unless he is talkin about the 317 casting (lq9). or if they r an aftermarket casting. so make sure.

The LS6 heads are higher compression. I believe their 62cc's.

The best bang for the buck is the 317's. With force induction it seem's like you don't have to worry as much about really good flowing heads, but I guess every hp counts

the LQ9 and the LS6 heads have very similar flow numbers but the only big difference is that the LQ9 has the 71.5cc combustion chamber
