Default ported compressor housing (turbo)

how much does it affect the surge line and pressure ratio?

I have been told it just widens the map in both directions.
too good to be true? disadvantages/downside?

That was my comment excactly. This poor guy can't get any tech support from the boards becuase everyone just gawks at his pic's. . .

Rusted, are you talking about enlarging the volute? If so, that would be very hard to do uniformly. It would basically increase the compressor A/R, which moves efficiency out to the right. I don't think it would affect surge though. I'm trying to get Jose to send me an S76 compressor cover for my 76GTS for that very reason.

no, more like the indexed holes drilled around the inlet on the horn

I've seen several variations of this on different makes.

Oh. I'm pretty sure that's simply to move the surge line to the left.

Yes that is all the re-flow covers do is move the surge line to the left. Does not effect HP output.

would it be better if I just upgrade my compressors from t-64's to t-66's

I notice the 64's arent even listed in the new turbonetics book.
also the exducer on the 64 is actually larger than the 66mm.
the surge line on the 66 is a little farther to the left and the center effeciency island is much larger. its almost a no-brainer.

it looks like the 64 would be better suited for a mild single build
