Default STS oval intake tube?

I'm looking into a STS system but am worried about the ground clearance and I don't want to lose my drivers side SFC. The intake tubing from STS is 2.25" ( I think) . If I was to use 2.5" oval tubing ( height of 1.5"- 1.75") do you think I would run into restiction problems from necking down?

You're going to lose ground clearance where the pipe passes just in front of the driver side rear wheel and also under the front driver side K-member. Oval pipe won't change that.

Customers who have taken the drivers side sfc off have not noticed a difference.
