Default do good flowing bolt ons really matter?

ok well im planning an engine build for boost and i was wondering where i can save some money. do i really need a good flowing set of heads or intake when it comes to FI? could i get away with a built 402 and ls6 heads/intake and to make up for poor flow (when compared to bigger better heads) i just turn up the boost? basically do flow numbers really matter for FI or is that just for N/A applications?

You can make lots of power with small heads, but it will take more boost to get there, and that requires more octane and reliability will be lower.

ok that makes sense. now if people are making 700+WHP out of boosted stock cube 346 motors would it be reasonable to expect 900+WHP out of say a built ls2 402 with stage 3 ls6 heads and 90/90 intake with a reliable amount of boost coming from properly sized turbos?

Yes , but I would think you would want something with a little thicker deck to help against the heads lifting.

I havn't heard any bad thing's about AFR's. I personally went with the Dart225's because of the potential and affordability.

If you are going FI and running a lot of boost don't use that Fast intake. It will break. Look it up..
