Default Getting ready to spend alot more $ and need some advice.

I have a speed inc 370 cube iron shortblock. -14.9cc diamond pistons, stock crank, 4.030 bore. Im trying to decide on a head and i beleive the dart head with 63CC chambers would put me right around 9.5:1 compression. There was some confusion when i bought the block originally and i need to be SURE im getting the right compression. This will be run with a D1SC set on kill. I'll be buying an LS6 intake, torque converter, and rear axle and a number of other things, but the heads are still worrying me. I do not want to buy the wrong heads.

Can someone confirm the comressed thickness of a GM 6.0 MLS gasket for me? Thats the gasket i plan on running. I appreciate everyones help!

EPP bob, if your reading this i may be calling you in the next week to place a big order. Just gotta figure out what im doing with the heads first!

Im looking for north of 700 at the tires. Im thinking i should be able to do it on 93 octane pump gas?? Or would i have to be on race fuel at that level?

700 is fine, just keep the CR down since you are boosting it. 700 with a d1sc is fine, mid 700s is where we see the d1sc start to fall off, then your in f1 territory. Actually if your going for a max effort setup, i would start off with a f1 series blower and just turn it down, the advantages are there is quite a bit more midrange and you can just get a $80 pulley to crank the boost up.

Give me a call and we can go over this, and your list.

I already bought the D1SC from you last spring . I recently got SLP chain and oil pump and ARP head studs and 60 lb injectors (gonna end up being too small i think) from you at EPP. Shortblock was from speed inc though since they were local to me.

This will be as close to a max effort setup as possible while still being able to drive it around once in a while when i feel the urge. Id like to see 750RWHP but i dont wanna get my hopes up too high lol.

Ill give you a call tomm afternoon sometime.

I wouldn't run 9.5:1 + pump gas to hit 700rwhp, I'd look into lowering the compression.

I was originally planning on about 9.2:1 but i kept hearing 9.5 was the sweet spot for blowers. Ill have to talk to EPP.

72CC heaads put me down t o about 8.6 or 7 to 1 i beleive. Seemed really low compared to what others with blowers seemed to be running?

When i did the math this is what i was coming up with. Can anyone double check these?? 4.030 bore, stock stroke. MLS 6.0 gasket.

Chamber = Compression
62cc = 9.504
63cc= 9.409
64cc= 9.317
65cc= 9.227
66cc= 9.138
67cc= 9.053
68cc= 8.967

I/m going 9:8.1 with 91 octane and plan on hitting 650 rwhp on a great tune. Extra large intercooler will help me.
