Default Who has any experience of the Patriot LQ9 72cc F/I heads!

Wanting a nice CNC head that will drop my compression down a point on my D1SC blown LS6 in my Z06 and these seem like a perfect budget minded option especially fullly assemlbed with dual patriot valve springs.

What has your experience with the newer sytle of these heads offered by PATRIOT in a blower or turbo application utilizing the Patriot 72cc LQ9 heads, bad, good or indifferent?

Have all the of the bugs been worked out of the newer versions of these good flowing budget minded Force Induction Heads?

Not a bad way to go, very economical and great flow for FI.. We have done several STS kits with just a simple head swap and we usually see another 30-40 hp without adjusting boost (loosing 2-3 psi)

Im considering them for a close to max effort D1SC build. They have been taken to over 700RWHP a number of times. I beleive they have been taken well past that also. Cant go wrong for the $ especially for what it sounds like your plannning.

On a BLOWN motor you guys recommend going with the 225 runner intakes vs 205s on a stock cubed motor (as long as it a F/I motor) right?

Have these held up well and been reliable the newest versions released by PATRIOT vs. the early problems plagued by some of the Patriot Heads?

I recommend using the Stage 2 heads on the smaller cubed engines. We used Patriot stage 2 LQ9 heads on this 740 rwhp Corvette.

Mine were a set of the originals that left a bad taste in my mouth since they had to be redone.....spent another $800 to get them right..... the valve job was crap also....
I cant vouch for the newer versions.....

I can tell you this though..... there valve springs are AWSOME...
When we thought i had a valve float problem we had them checked and compared to the Comp 921's.. both shops comparing and testing them didnt know what they were..... and the Patriots came out winners from both shops...

I have them and love them. I have power all the way to red line. I went with the EPP cam and patriot stg3 heads. Im also on a 422. The car is wicked even for 5.5 psi. I turned it up to 7 and all I do is roast the tires from 1-4 The cam was installed straight up.. The heads where un touch went from the box to the car.

I ran them for 3k miles. I made 653 whp on only 10psi on a stock bottom LS1. They gave me no problems. I will be using them on my new forged high boost build as well......but I am switching the springs out for a set of their .660 high lift springs!!!!

My cam has a intake lift of 642 sop I wanted a little extra insurance from coil bind.

DID YOU RUN the 205 or 225 intake runners on our PAT. 72cc LQ9 heads?

Also, blower or turbo and if blower what cam specs. made all that power on a stock LS1 shortblock?

(copied form the PM I sent you)

They are the stg3 version.....I THINK they are the 225cc ones, but I don't remember specifying that when i ordered them. Just ordered some patriot stg 3 LQ9 CNC heads from byunspeed.

It was with a T76gts custom front mount turbo kit. The cam was an AFR custom grind that I had made for a COMPLETELY different build....but I changed my plans last summer when i came across some extra money.

228/232 588/595 on a 114+2

It was tuned at synergy and my fuel pressure started to drop at 5100rpms so the tune wasn't even complete. He didn't even start to play with the timing and left it at 15* the whole time. 652whp and 627tq.

No issues with mine. 5000 miles. You can pick them up used too for around $800-900 on the board.

if you have a link for those let me know

Jim I know Speed Inc has used these heads on the f/i combinations and they worked well.

For the amount of money they cost they are the cheapest set of good heads down there.

I'd do with a stage 2 like these since you dont have extra cubes or go with the AFR 225's.

Heads will be coming for me this summer.
