Default D1SC or OFI? What would you go with?

Has anyone compaired the two yet? Yes I know the difference between the two, but they seem to put out around the same numbers, just a liltle curious. I know the D1SC is proven hands down, but not to much word on the OFI kit yet.

There are still OFI builds going on as I type this and if you wait until spring, Im sure numbers will be popping up everywhere...And if you want to know more about the D1SC, look up a member by the name "KP"(low 9's with one )...But in the end, it comes down to preference, like always.

Well what are you going to use it for?? If you're going with a stock engine for a while you're going to max out your combo with either one...

Not sure how much is involved but I've always heard that turbos were a pain in the *** to tune? How true is this and what makes that so. Only downfall is the wait for the turbos! Where as the D1SC you can get alot sooner.

The upside that I prefer with the turbo is having the boost controler, where as the D1 you have to swap out pullies. Just my own thoughts though.

I went OFI for the ability to make 1000+ rwhp
ATI is simple, virtually maintenance free if you aren trying to max it out and sounds cool.

I'm not looking for those numbers but it's nice to have that option.

I would just be sketch on ordering anything that takes months to get delivered.

The D1sc is just easy, and gets results. BUT--there really is no beating a well designed turbo kit. I would not pay for one that is months out though.....

D1SC because of the power it makes, warranty, and Bob's @ EPP expertise/support behind it.

There are more areas of the map that are subject to boost with a turbo. The centrifugal's airflow is directly tied to engine rpm and tuning is more straightforward. The turbo on the otherhand could make 11 psi at 2500 to 6500 rpm and anything else in between so the tuning is much more involved. Your spark and fuel need to be dialed in for a much wider range of conditions.

I'm probably going to lock this soon because someone will get in an argument but pretty much my take on it all is...

If you want it NOW its hard to go wrong with the procharger, week or two and you have everything at your door. Easy to install, easy to tune and I have yet to see a head unit fail on an LS1 car. You need headers to get the most out of it so there is a little extra expense their. Either one you need a good fuel system and drivetrain so that doesnt matter.

Turbo can give you everything you want, install and tune is a little more involved, dont have to buy headers but you have the wait. I think the OFI stuff looks pretty nice though so its really a hard decision.

Personally I'm a no wait kinda guy, when I pony up 5-6K I wanna see some parts, may cost me a little ET and MPH and even some 'panty droppage' but I'm satisfied. Main thing is have fun with it when its done, its a big investment either way and its something that should be enjoyed and not frustrated over - buy what YOU want

ProCharger girls don't wear panties, they all give it up to the Gods of Boost.
