LS1 can.....

As for what is more reliable when built with boost, I think an LT1 is.....

Neither piston is very stellar with high HP (unless you just make one glory pull and tell all your friends your making 700hp on stock pistons lol).

I would think the LS1 just because the heads flow better.

You don't hear very much about LT1's lifting heads, or blowing head gaskets. Now granted the LS1 heads flow better so 1psi = more horsepower, but 1000hp on an LT1 is not to terribly difficult and somewhat reliable thanks to the extra head bolts.

the ls1 is a 6 bolt main, and the crank is good for 800-1000rwhp. its the stock rod bolts, rods, and pistons that suck.

Its the amount of headbolts that's the weak link.

i believe it's the high cylinder pressure from FI on a stock LS1 piston that blows apart the ringlands, the high rpm's is what breaks the shitty rod bolts

The pistons will melt long before either had Any crankshaft problems or lifts any heads.

The new LSX block coming out (or maybe it is out now) looks like this:

I'm sure you guys have already seen it, but there's a solution to a "weak link"

I would rather lift a head than blow everything out the bottom.

How much boost does it take to lift the heads on an lsx?

Depends on how bad you're detonating
