Default Turbo setup o2 before or after

Okay my truck has been single turbo then twin now going back big single, My ? is do I need to stick the o2s right after my headers before the turbo on each side or in my downpipe after the turbo? I have been told the heat before the turbo will screw them up, So I have always ran them after the turbo in the downpipe, But where should they go and why? Thanks for any help

my incons had the o2s mounted in the manifold before the turbos. The pressure at wot does skew the readings but that is not an issue at idle/part throttle. Of course, you arent using them at wot. Now the wideband o2 does need to be after the turbo.

Absolutely right on the problems B4 the turbo.
Excessive heat, and gas pressure will affect the life, and accuracy of the sensor[s].
Best shot is in the DP, and at least a foot away from the turbo...

When you weld in the bung, be sure the tip of the sensor is pointed downward. I like to position the bung between 10 and 2 o'clock. This position will prevent moisture from collecting in the protective shell, and ruining the sensor.

my o2s are mounted before the turbo. My WB is mounted after. Ive heard many different theories on how they should be mounted. I see how they can become all fugged up if you mount them before.

Several OEM cars, including my WRX have the O2 mounted before the turbo.

Narrow band O2's are before the turbo, widebands are after the turbo.
