Default What size piping for a rear mounted turbo

I am currently in the process off finishing up piecing together a turbo kit for my lt1 powered chevelle and am not sure of piping size on the compressor side. 2"? what about 2 1/2"? i hate to put a 2" and restrict the intake tract. would 2 1/2" be better ? sizing is an issue. im running a small turbo and basically a stock lt1 with boltons.i am planning on running about 8 psi and eventually 10 when i get a better pump, tune, injectors etc.also , is it a bad idea to run the MAF after the turbo or before? any help would be very helpful
thanks

Cold side 2.5 would be good.

For the HOT side we run 2.5 off the manifolds, 2.5-2.75 Y pipe and then a 2.75-3" magephone to 3" all the way back.

Cold side is all 2.5 with a meth injection system.

Good luck with the build...Please post some pics of the progress!

Edited for more detail:

I spec'd my 04 GTO to STS when I ordered my kit and STS spec'd my kit with a PT76GT-S and left everything else as the standard kit. It came with 2.00" cold (intake) and hot (exhaust) piping, a Tial 38mm WG(?!) and standard IC...all too small for the T76 and the 408ci. So, I'm having to redo everything but the turbo. Rick replaced the IC with one of adequate capacity but I am on my own for the piping and wastegate. For piping, I currently have JBA 2.50" catless midpipes and will be replacing the hot side with 2.50" y-pipe into a 3.00" single back to the turbine. I have bought an Innovative Indy Gate 51mm that will be mounted on the y-pipe where the 3" piping begins. I'll likely upgrade the cold side with 2.50" as well, but want to see what results I get with the hot side first.

Hoping that this will decrease the back pressure at the turbine and without creating much lag.
