Turbo high mileage?
109K on the clock and i want to boost it within the next year or so. I'm leaning towards a STS rearmount and run about 6-8PSI nothing too crazy, I wanna push about 400-450 to the ground. I'm a newbie so i searched around and found the stickies and got info there but nothing specifically on STS kits. What are you guys' oppinions on them? Is a rebuild nessecary? I'm sure it wouldn't hurt. Anything specific? i want to get a 12 bolt and EIbach sportlines too... What prices should i be looking at? I'm gonna do most of the work myself (with some mustang buddies ) unless i find that it's too difficult and then i'll contiplate paying someone to do it.
sorry for the long post

I put a sts kit on the truck when it had 150k on it. It had a s/c on it for about 100k before the turbo went on. As long as you have a safe tune and don't get greedy with the boost you should be fine. Thats if the engine is in good shape and was well mantained. The stock 5.3 put about 500 to the ground with methanol and no intercooler at 8psi.
