Default what is the best exhaust heat wrap?

i'm gonna redo the heat wrap on my turbo setup. I want black. I want whatever is gonna work the best to keep heat out of my engine bay.

opinions please.

DEI sells balck 2" wide heat wrap. Other companies probably make it also.

yup what he said u can also just buy the brown wrap from them also if you can find the black and paint it with their paint thats what im gonna do....

Both DEI and ThermoTec sell black, 1" and 2" wrap. It's less of a hassle to have it black first. Consider a double layer. You can even put a layer of ceramic batting in between layers - check Longacre racing for the batting.

whatever you do dont buy the DEI stainless ties. Go to harbor freight and buy them. I got beat over the head from DEI on them before i realized that they were nothing special and were able to be bought locally.

A hose clamp or piece of wire also works if you don't want to go buy the stainless ties. Sometimes you can catch a deal from DEI and get free ties with the heat wrap though.
