Default Procharger issues

Maybe I am looking at this all worng, but heres whats on my mind.

Say you have a built 347 w/D1SC at say 15-16#'s

Couldn't you swap out the D1SC with a F1A and run 8-10#'s and make the same numbers? This is on an F-body too.

No, it doesn't work that way. Steady state, same motor and setup, 2 blowers that can produce 15-16# would yield the same HP, minus any differences in efficiency of the blower.

What I think you are talking about is with the same blower, you make changes to your engine that makes it better at total air throughput, then you put down the same power with less boost.

Boost numbers in one sense are merely a measure of how much air is 'stacked up' waiting to be processed (pumped) by your motor.

Not to mention pulleying an F1 down that low it will be way out of its range where its designed to work. Just like turbos centrfrigal blower have 'maps' and there are some rpm spots where they work better at and thats usually close to max impeller speed. Matter of fact the difference in power it takes to drive the higher step up and being way off the map at very low rpm if you could turn it slow enough to make only 10psi it would probably make LESS power then the D1 at 10psi overall..

Doesn't sound like your having a Procharger issue at all... Why are you wanting the F1 if your not gonna use it the way its designed? Future build ?

Correct!! I'm always looking to the future with my builds.

Don't know why but I was thinking for some odd reason you could run the F1 at a lower setting then the D1SC and make the same numbers. Just a lilttle brain fart thats all, we all have them from time to time.

what does the combo above make and what's an expected time for that setup in an Fbody?

in a c5 I can tell you that my combo, built 346 w/F1 procharger @ 14.8peak PSI, made 700/600 on 93 pumpgas.

You would be correct somewhat if you are talking about turbo's. A small turbo run to to the edge of its efficiency and flow will make less power at a certain psi than a larger turbo with less boost will.
