Default Possible turbo for my 408 ... questions!

I am doing some searching now but would love to hear your thoughts. Currently it would be a 11:1 compression 408 with the tsp prc 5.3 2.5r heads and -12cc pistons. I have a portmatched fast 90/90 setup, TSP GIANT cam, pulley, long tubes, etc. What would be adviseable for me to do? I ask because I saw a sts turbo system in the for sale section. Would it be worthwhile to swap to l92/l76 and turbo? If so, what else do I need to consider and what kind of power could I see? Thanks in advanced!

If I was in your shoes and considering going turbo I'd sell your motor and get one built for boost. You would have to change alot for your combo to work well with FI. The STS isn't realy setup for a big cube motor. When it comes to FI and power levels you need to decide two things....how much power you want to make and how much money you want to spend.

yeah i guess it is kind of ludicrous for me to think about fi right now anyway. I'd just rather do close to 500rwhp n/a and spray 200 on it at most for now I suppose

actually this leads me to another question - my 408 is fully forged ... what exactly does "built for boost" mean? What would my motor be lacking?

Lower compression is the main thing that comes to mind for me... about 2 1/2 points.....

Compression is lowered and application specific rings are used.
