Okay heres the deal. I have the STS turbo system on my 94 lt1. The engine is bone stock with a lt4 hotcam. I'm currently running 5psi on low boost and on high boost I'm running 7psi with meth.injection with a safe tune. I'm buying a intercooler this summer for it. I plan to run both the intercooler and meth.injection. I wanted to run 7psi intercooled on low boost and 9psi intercooled with the meth on High. I was told I could run this on a stock engine. Just wondering if that was true. I want my motor to last atleast another summer or so. I dont plan to use the high boost all the time. Just once in a while so 90% of the time It will only see low boost 7psi. Please let me know if my stock engine could take that much boost

I would do it LT1s have the cast iron block...That is a great advantage over the LS1 when it comes to boost that is.

If I were you I would call or email TRT and ask them.

I was quoted 7.5 - 8 psi on stock internals for the LS1, I could do 10psi if I really wanted to but is not really a good idea.

Since you have a iron block you could probably handle that much boost. But best to find out before you do it.

I am going with there Stage II kit with FMIC and cam. Was told I could very well easily see 500+ rwhp @ 6psi.....I am not going to be running a boost controller, just going to spring the waste gate for the boost levels I want.

yeah but a stock lt1 is 10.5:1 compression...i dont think going over 7 is a good idea...they just werent made for boost...sure the iron block is better..but ls1 has 6 bolt mains lt1 have 2 bolt...look in the n20 section...stock lt1 most run a 150-175 shot...ls1 guys are posting daily about a 250-300 shot...you do the math
