Default Forged 347

How much HP will a forged 347 handle? Looking to buy one from speed inc or Texas speed. Thinking of going with -8.5cc diamond pistons. Any input?

Depending on parts used, It will handle quite a bit. How much HP do you need it to handle?

I got my forged 347 from SDPC. They beat all the others pricing. Give Matt there a call, or shoot him a PM.

Mine just made 632 with my P1SC and I haven't installed the meth yet. I did a lot of research but I ended up going with compstar rods, mahle pistons, and they threw in ARP studs for less than what other shops were quoting me for stock bolts! I'm very happy with mine so far.

I have an 8:1 Speed Inc. 348ci with custom Diamond pistons, motor has seen 10-26 psi, and has made anywhere from 680 to 867rwhp. I have a stock crank, ARP main studs, A1 head studs, MLS head gaskets, stock ported oil pump, Rollmaster timing chain and some H beam rods.

I made damn near 1000 rwhp...probably made more actual hp on the street but dyno wise, no cookie on my 346 with the diamond pistons and eagle rods. I just pulled it out and inspected it, everything is in awesome condition. I plan to put it for sale soon

I emailed matt he said he could get me a motor using a stock LS6 crank, CompStar rods, Manley or Mahle forged pistons (with the dish needed to get your compression down there where you want it), and AckerlyChilds upgraded nitrous/boost rings, also ARP bolts throughout the bottom end of course. For $3500 do you think i should go with that or a speed inc or Texas speed motor?
