Default need help, chance to buy headunit

one of my buddies has a procharger head unit, not sure which one but i think it should give me about 8-10 pounds he said on my car, if that helps. i would have to buy all the brackets or make them, he is a machinist and big into racing and such, and has made some brackets for this before. so my question is, would it be worth buying just the headunit or should i wait for a kit. what would be a good deal on it? what all would this intale to get my car to run with this? fuel pump, injectors? mods are in sig. thanks!

I have done a couple of things using the part-by-part method. In the long run for both cases, they have turned out to be 1.5 to 2 more expensive than buying the kit. Live and learn I guess......
