Default procharger & exhaust

I've been told that on a stock exhuast car it will make 8lbs of boost and with headers & good flowing exhaust its about 5lbs. My car right now has FLP ceramic coated long tubes and an open 3" y-pipe (its a hooker y-pipe with dual cutouts welded in). I have a ceramic coated flp y-pipe, 2.5" piping with 3.5" outlet, with highflow cats. I'd like to get the cutouts off the car but that y-pipe will pretty much look like crap & wont flow any better with all the welds than it does right now. Was thinking about using the flp longtubes & flp y-pipe, take the cats off & dump a bullet muffler. I wont do this if its going to choke my car any though. Review my mod list and give your $.02

are you saying that the stock exhaust will be better than the LT and Y-pipe or what?

Boost=Measure of Restriction. Just b/c you'll be seeing less boost with LT's/ORY, you'll see the same/well actually more air flow from the blower. Less Boost going from a Restricted exhaust to a Free flowing exhaust doesnt mean you're losing power or choking it up.

car already has the flp long tubes and a 3" open y-pipe. I took the catback off for a reason and its never going back on.

What i was asking is how much is the 2.5" going to rob power compared to the 3".

A less restrictive exhaust system does lower boost, as does better flowing cylinder heads, performance camshafts, larger cubic inch engines, higher elevations, etc. When we place an order for an ATI ProCharger, all of these factors are taken into consideration to get the correct blower pulley sized for the head unit, to see the boost the customer desires. If you have all of the above items, and you want 12 psi of boost, we can get you 12 psi of boost.
Note: I don't recommend going over 8 psi unless you have forged rods and pistons.
Hopefully this helps. Bob
