changing to a little smaller pulley on my v-9 blower, and i was wondering if i would need a shorter belt, or would the tensioner take up the slack?

LOL The tensioner will take up alot of slack. What size of pulley do you have on it?

if the tensioner doesn't take up the slack use a string to measure the distance the belt follows with the tensioner as tight as you can get. then order a belt just a wee bigger.

sorry, i should have said that differently, i was saying with the tensioner to it's fully compressed state (what you do when you want to remove the belt) take the measurement and get a belt slightly bigger.
