Default What a real muffler for a turbo car looks like

i bit the bullet and got a Magnaflow 3.5" stainless muffler. On the car currently is a Hooker Aerochamber.I talked with a guy in this section who has my exact setup but with a LT1 instead and he said he saw a huge reduction in backpressure as well as a modest decrease in noise so well see how it does.....man they are expensive though.and its HUGE!i opened the box and was like holy crap!

We went with a dynatech split flow on my bro's set up, it flows a lil..
http://www.afabcorp.com/AFCO_Dynatec...ode=split-flow
3.5 in and out and just a thin perforated "Baffle" in the center.

I will tell ya in 24 hours how loud mine is. My mechanic said mine sounds like stock through both mufflers: A 3" x 22" long magnaflow, and one 24" bullet muffler. He said cars with just cat-backs are louder.

We will be finding out just how loud it is in about a week. All the hot parts are on the way home from the coaters. The exhaust dumps just before the rear axle, 396ci, S400 set up.

I got an offset version magnaflow so mine isn't straight though. I used to run a borla XR-1 and it was still wayyyyy too loud.

Mine:
24x/23x, 64x-61x on a 114+4 stenod/camotion custom grind

When my cut-out is open, it is a straight, short 4" dump with no mufflers. When the cut-out is closed.....it is 3" with the two mufflers.

We run a 4" exhaust with a straight threw 4" muffler on a truck with a 408ci/S85mm and it's awesome.Very quiet and deep sounding.

When I had my YSi setup, I tried some different dual mufflers, and the final set were Magnaflows, worked great.

I'm running a 4" Dynomax bullet with my current single turbo setup, gets the job done but bulllets never sound good on LS1's IMHO.
