Default Turbo CHEVY Silverado 4.3L V6 (ideas)

So my GF (soon to be wife) wants to go fast and show her truck in shows. Well at first I thought on LS1 or LS6 swap that has been done already why not be different?

Ok project is not due to start till late Oct but I want to get some ideas. From what I have seen there has not been anyone to do this from that I can tell. I know GM had a turbo s10 and blazer that were both 4.3l based.

I will be using the T76 Qtrim I currently have on my GTO (upgrading soon) so I plan to use that and its going to be a single turbo front mount.

Ideas on trans upgrades or where to find engine build parts, tuning?

Althought this should probably be on PT.net, I'll give a shot at helping you.

HOT ROD magazine did an article on a blown 4.3L a while back. Check out these articles:

The fuel system is not really good past350fwhp. Allthough the stock bottom end is good to about 500fwhp. You would want a custom intake built with a real set of injectors.

I think the t76 is way to big for a 4.3. You would have a hellva time getting it to spool. I'd say you need something around a T-60 for a descent spool.

yah...that T76 is way too big for a 4.3. The 4.3 flows a little more then my 3.8 and i would never think of a turbo that big...The best turbos for my 3.8-4.3 based v6's are said to be the MasterPower T70 (the turbo i have and many others have on their cars)...they only cost 600.00 brand new. My Compressor side is .70 but the hotside is .68 which gives you a quick spool, but can produce up to 35psi and 550hp...visit www.fullthrottlev6.com and talk to us over there that all have boosted v6's. Theres also a kid floating around here on ls1tech that has a boosted 4.3 blazer...hopefully he'll pitch in here.

Yeah I seen his setup but it was a sts style. This is going to be a front mount setup. And I am using what I have as far as the turbo goes for now to cut down cost. That was some cool info on those links some stuff i had no clue, like the pistons and rods are the same as the 350 v8
