calculation for figuring cam overlap??

I searched for a while and couldn't find it. I saw it the other day and now I can't remember it, anyone know it?

Add the intake and exhaust durations
Divide the results by 4
Subtract the LSA
Multiply the results by 2

so I may just be ignorant but what would you need that for? I just did that with my cam and it was 1. Is that normal?

1 is fine for boost.I think you just dont want it over+8 ish.You also dont want to big of a standard split on the durations.

yes I needed it to figure out a cams overlap I was looking at for my turbo set up
