Default Smaller pulley = higher boost at low RPM?

Hi,
I got D1SC with 4.10 and just using the car cruising around town, etc ...
Would smaller pulley like 3.85 get me to higher boost at lower RPM's?
Thanks,
-Mike @ www.corvettestripes.com

yes, on a blower, boost is proportional to rpm's

the greater the rpm's the more boost. take a look at some of the dyno graphs on epp's website, the the graph is almost a diagnol line

Yes it does. I run a 3.2 and I hit 10# almost right away.

Of course, but be ready for that peak later!

Here is my thoughts on it.

I have my car setup to shift at 6200 RPM instead of the normal 6700-7000 RPM that a lot of people do. I just speed up the blower to max out it out earlier. I think this helps better area under the curve and with my low 3.23-3.42 gear ratio it should drop me in my peak TQ range between shifts not taking as long to get into my powderband since I shift at 6200. Perfect for a street car IMO, plus you don't have to kill the motor with RPMS to make crazy power

The only downside I see with this is you need to watch the small pulleys making sure you don't have belt issues.
BTW I will be sporting a 3.2 with a 7.65 crank pulley on my D1SC.

Only on centrifugal blowers.

Thats where I shift right now 6000. If you look at my dyno I have alot of torque under the curve.

I have 450 rwtq @ 3000 and almost 550 rwtq @ 4000

One thing a lot of people are doing is going with a smaller pulley and a restrictor plate. If your wanting more power down low, but don't want to fry your motor at the top end this is a very good solution. The guys at ECS have been doing this a lot lately and the new dyno sheets look much better.

That what I wanted
Any belt slipping issue? What kind of bracket y'all using for 3.2 pulley?
Thanks,
-Mike
***BTW, are your 3.2 6 rib or 8 rib?

And that you don't overspin the blower much past its max rpm if you ever do decide to wind it out...

Sorry but i'm not a supercharger guy. I've just read a lot of people saying good things about the plates. If you would call East Coast Supercharging they would be able to give you a lot better info than I could.
