What grade of oil are the you guys using-15psi and over?

Default What grade of oil are the you guys using-15psi and over?

Tried to search this but I wasn't so successfull. i'm just wondering what grade of oil you you guys are using on built motors that are pushed hard and making lots of boost.

Why the higher front number? Isn't that a little thicker oil?

Higher temps?

Ive always used 15W50 but I am researching and may run something else in new motor.

The same oil we run with under 15lbs. Ussually Mobile 1 0w/40.

Yup, nothing like hot lapping the car in 105+ temps. I'll give it a break after 3 passes though to let it cool.

10w 30 or whatever else is in the garage... I think I had some 10w40 lying around for this oil change.

whatever decent oil is on sale, penzoil, valvoline, castrol etc. 10w30 in the winter and 10w40 in the summer, I change it pretty often though.

I'm with KP here, I just use a good name brand oil and change it often. I generally use Valvoline because I know someone who used to work for them and they actually said that they buy the best crude (or whatever) and make the best oil. I run 10W40 all the time, but I don't drive the car much in the cold weather.
