Default Superman09 track results

Well i went back to Grand Bend tonight and had some better results. BTW, the changes i made from last time included me moving my intercooler from it's shitty spot, to the normal spot most of you guys run and i put the air dam back on. My first pass was with cutouts closed and meth on and i ran the same shitty 12.6 ish. Then i ran another with cutouts open and again another shitty 12.6. So a guy in the staging area wanted to check out my engine bay so i popped the hood to find the silicone from my charge pipe to TB was not even connected to the pipe, haha. So i was basically boosting my engine bay, while a little bit i guess was making it into the throttle body. Never really checked boost guage on first 2 runs anyway. My mph went way down to a 105 on the one run so it was basically running stock with the charge pipe not connected. So i reconnected it and tightened down the tbolt clamp and the very next run it felt MUCH stronger and ran a 12.1 @ 115 with a 1.9 60'. I was very happy at the gain. Next run i ran a 12.0 @ 114 with a 1.8 60'. So close to 11's. I was in the staging lanes for one last run where my car decided to die and wouldnt start back up. Had to push it back out into the pits and found my battery to be completely dead. I got a jump and kept the car running to get some charge and left. The reason this happened was due to still having the underdrive pulley on so my alternator charges like poop, going back to stock ASAP! BTW, these runs were made on 5.5 psi with the stock stall still on BFG DR's.

2 good runs.. open cutouts, no meth, 5.5 psi

60- 1.912
330- 5.229
1/8- 7.873
mph- 92.47
990- 10.178
1/4- 12.125
mph- 115.16

best one...

60- 1.885
330- 5.153
1/8- 7.782
mph- 92.45
990- 10.089
1/4- 12.030
mph- 114.06

These times seem to match up much better I'm very pleased for the 5.5 psi and know it has an 11 in it the way it sits, i wish i could have got that last run in. Let me know what you think, will get pics up tomorrow and will try to get video soon!

Very good to start... stay in a linear pace.

I went too quick at first with my Incons.

In the end the car collapsed the ringlands in 3 pistons from boost creep...

Go slow and work everything out.

Proper Timing... CHECK
Traction... CHECK

Just a hair of a you know what from 11's, great run on low boost. Good to hear you are being smart and easing into it. Must be tempting as hell to crank up the boost though. Job well done!

Yea, i was so close and i knew i had an 11 the next run. The car kept launching better and better and it was getting colder and colder. Oh well, i'll get them next time. I wonder what this car has in it with the low boost plus that converter I'm just enjoying it for the rest of the season. Towards the end of the season maybe i'll up the boost or add the converter when it wont matter if i break or not. Hopefully i can get the videos up soon!

Not too shabby. I'd get that stall convertor and if you can up the boost some more. Yeah, what SStolen said. So close bro!!!

Yea, but then i worry i will start having tranny problems and i'm not sure i want to have the car down again this season. I just like enjoying it right now, Maybe in a few more weeks i'll try the converter and/or maybe up the boost. It would be a solid 11 car all day with 8 psi and the verter. I'm happy with the times for only 5.5 psi, stock verter, and on 18's, lowered, full weight

If thats a stock converter thats very good, you wont believe what a difference a good torque converter will make.

Yep, stock converter.... I have a PYE 3400 sitting on my counter atm. Scared my tranny will 'splode if i put it in though. So tempted to up it to 7-8 psi, turn the meth on and put the converter in. BTW, im scheduled for an appointment at W2W on tues. Was to check to see why my car sucked so bad but i found the reason myself, maybe ill use the dyno time to up the boost a tad.... What do you guys think. I really dont want to have the car broken down before the end of the season.

I would put the converter in, pretty much the same chance of killing the trans either way.

FWIW years ago with my first LS1 procharger (P1SC 2K z28) i had the stock converter in it and ran 12.40s or so with 6-7psi. Put an ST3500 converter in it and with no other changes it ran 11.70s. I was pretty happy with that

I'd put the convertor in anyways. These 4L60E's suck. I'm on my second rebuild this year. Five total in 6 years. Alot of downtime this year. Next time the trans is gone. I'm tired of it.

I like my 3400 stall though.
