I have a STS turbo on my stock lt1 engine. Just make sure you dont go crazy with the boost - stay at 5psi and run no more then 7-8psi on your high boost. Also make sure you upgrade the fuel pump, fuel injectors - run a intercooler or meth injection over 5psi and have your car dyno tune. You should be okay then.

LT1 pistons like to break in the ring land while under boost. I'm going to sell one of my kidneys and a leg to help pay for my forged LT1 because I didn't want to take any chances on stock internals. It may last a little while if your tune is good though

Some interesting first-hand information there that helped me a LOT when deciding whether or not to boost my near stock bottomed LT1.
