Default SX88 Dual Ball Bearing

I know you said it was on its way but is there any updates on the testing outcome on the dual ball bearing setup?

Two prototype units have been built, but not sure if they are going to continue with the production or not.

On these large units it only good for 100-150rpms. Not sure if its worth the added expense and time to manufacture.

honestly, that is what i had figured. I remember researching DBB setups and the general idea is that they require more attention to keep them working properly and that in some cases, the increase in boost response isn't enough to over see the maintence.

Thus, I assume that this turbo setup is more for a pure racecar application where you have dedicated time to look over the entire vehicle between runs and are not running the vehicle for more than 30 minutes at a time, max!

On smaller cube engines would the difference in spool be more noticeable ?

And I was always under the impression, the BB units could handle high boost/thrust loads better than conventional bearing systems ?

The spool up might be a touch better, but nothing major.

The BB's were designed for that as well, but they were mainly designed for units that had a weak thrust assembly. These units do not have that problem.

funny,.. the other day i ran into a guy with a gt35r in a subi. We were talking about a few things and the subject about my car came up and my turbo. (S85) Almost like clockwork, we said that he might have a chance since his turbo was a BB unit and mine wasn't.

I almost lost it!! It's funny how much misinformation there is running around... anyways, just wanted to share that, really made my weekend triping on that comment.

I won't ever use a standard turbocharger again, and I'll leave it at that.
