Need better T-bolts. Spring loaded? "Constant-Torque"?

Default Need better T-bolts. Spring loaded? "Constant-Torque"?

Ive had the worst luck with T-bolts lately and need to find a more heavy duty set. The main issue is the 90* steel elbow blowing off the TB. The first clamp bent and broke off its rivets. The second wont tighten all the way. Third stripped right off the threads.

Do the spring loaded ones work better? What about the constant torque ones?

btw off topic...do the tial BOVs need to be oiled or lubricated?

Sounds like you are using the wrong size clamp.

Ive used anything from a 3.5" (was rated for 3.5" but actually opened to 4") all the way to a 4.5". All of them either break or dont tighten correctly.

are these ebay clamps or are you getting them at NAPA?

You might just want to go with a v-band clamp

ebay, summit, silicone websites...

Maybe theres just a better company i could go with. Are the NAPA ones better? The TRT ones that I have look like a grade 8 equivalent and look like much better quality than the others (theyve also held up much better). I was just curious if the other types (spring, ect) were worth checkin into.

you have one vacuum line going to the bov or two?

the only time my stuff was blowing apart was when my bov was not working (or not working correctly)

i have some regular worm gear hose clamps holding some of my stuff together on the cold side.

The napa clamps help close to 40psi on my evo from a 67mm turbo while 2 e-bay clamps would pop off at stock boost when it was put back to stock.

Ill check out the NAPA ones. I went in today but they said it takes a day to get them in, and im out of town.

What do you mean 2 vac lines? I have a tial 50mm and its connected to a vac block (mcmaster carr) unit off the brake booster. Single 1/4" line to the top of the BOV. Should it be connected differently?

I would run the vacuum line off of the manifold, that way you get a clean signal.

some bov's like my godzilla for instance.. have two lines going to them for faster response.. one from before the tb, and one from after to go above, and below the diaphagm

The vac block comes off the booster (connecting to back of intake), so isn't that the best source? I think my issue was that it had the 11psi spring. My vacuum is between 14-18 so i need 9psi spring i guess
