Default Head Gasket - 370ci, O-Ringed 317 heads

From what I've been reading, my motor is a punched out LQ4, making it a 4.030 bore. I have o-ringed 317 heads from TEA, which I understand are 4.0 bore. I've been told I cannot run the MLS gaskets because of the o-ring. My question is do I match the gasket to the heads or to the block? Because if I match to the heads which is how I thought to do it, there will be gasket material protruding into the engine bore, .015 on each side. Is that a problem?

Or if anyone can tell me how to run the MLS gaskets with my heads that would be even better.

I have o-ringed TEA 6.0L heads on my 6.0L block and TEA recommends that Fel-Pro PT6166 gaskets to be used. They are a graphite gasket. A MLS gaket will damage the o-rings.

Just got off the phone with TEA, they claimed to not have a part # to give me. He said that if I ordered head gaskets from the first year the 6.0 truck motors were out that would work. He also then threw out a possible part #: 12558936

Fel Pro 9199pt. I had the exact same combo. O-ring sat right in the middle of the fire ring. Make sure you used NEW dowel pins to locate the gasket

I looked that part up, shows as a Steel core laminate? So it's not graphite then?

Where do I get the dowel pins, haven't started this yet?

Thanks guys! That part # I got from TEA shows as a '99 and up 6.0L gasket for the trucks . . . which is also what TEA said work.

Any ideas what the differences might be ( other than the material ) between these two?

I did see other links of yours referencing Ohio boys, but didn't they have to have something special done to the o-ring, as in placement, for it to work?

Why did you go copper? Would there be any reason for me to try that?
