Default T76 Turbo. Stock LS1

I have a Large Garrett T6 flange with a 1.30 turbine housing and a 76mm compressor side turbo and a stock cubed LS1. I am going to run it at about 5psi and wondering if anyone has any idea about what rpm's I will see full boost at? I don't know how to figure it out and have yet put it on the car. I never did understand those compressor maps. Thanks for any and all help!

a t76 isnt going to be efficient whatsoever at 5 psi. frankly, with a 1.3 hotside, it might reach 5 psi at 6000 rpm. my advice: sell it, and get a correclty sized turbo for your application.

If you are going to turbo it...get one that will fit your need.

At what PSI does the T76 become efficient? I have a T76 install coming up very soon (forged 8.5:1 shortblock being finished up as we type) and I don't really have any idea about which PSI I should shoot for. I'm going back to a stock displacement LT1 from my current forged 383 because of some close friends recommendation regarding the 383 choking a T76. I'm shooting for 600 RWHP with this motor since I think that's all I could get to the ground anyway in this daily driver/weekend warrior. I have access to whatever cam I need(Solid and Hyd rollers setups are in my garage), the ported heads flow 275/195 I/E respectively. I running the T76 w/MPS wheel, powered by a manifold log exhaust. My WG is a Turbosmart 38. My injectors are 60# Mototrons. This particular turbo was spec'd by Forced Inductions for my application. And, the A/R is .96.

air research? I had one witha .96 a/r. it made full boost at about 4k. Pulled like a freight train at 15-17 psi. Car was a total monster.

try and get a different housing if possible.

probably 20-30 would be ideal. but not 5. your smaller AR will help though. and your compression is low enough, there is no reason you cant run 20 psi on pump gas.

Thanks for all the replys. I originally bought it for a 434ci but dont have that any longer. So the .96 housing will help alot on this monstor? If not then....well. I have a rebuilt turbo for sale.. Anyone interested? Or trade for some smaller turbos.

A T76 will not reach 20-30psi on a good flowing LS1. Hell a S88 will make around 28-29psi max on a built LS1. The biggest baddest T4 76mm unit will probably still only make around 20psi max.

I'm still trying to figure why he says the compression is low enough on a stock motor? Does he know what the compression is on a stock LS1??...lol
