Default Remote/low mount turbo oil pump

Check this one out. It looks quite similar to the STS pump and has a good price.

Tell them Sean S told you about it.

Thanks

Sean

I've been running mine as the pressure pump for a self contained oiling system for over two years. I've taken the pump apart twice to inspect it and still good as new. As a scavange pump that would last along time. I make 25psi to the turbo not under boost and the 50psi under boost. As a scavange you'd see 0-2 psi

No. That is the STS pump. It is just rebranded for each company. It is a generic (read cheap) scavenge pump.
There are others out there, however. You just have to be patient with Google.
I found one years ago when I was so ticked about my banshee pump. But I have fixed the noise on mine with isolators, so I am finally content.

Isolators? Like rubberizing the entire back half?

That pump is f-n noisy. I just bought enough Dynamat to do my whole trunk.

my pump has a plate on the back of one side that has 4 rubber points to mount it quietly.

The STS pumps I have (I have a spare one, as a settlement with STS to shut me up, IMHO) are just like the one in the pics above. Although they have rubber washers on them, the screws that hold the pump to the car go directly to the car, which is what causes the f-ing banshee scream on many pumps. The vibrations from the low quality pump reverberate into the metal of the back of the car (well, behind the back seat) which is why the pump is so loud.
I went round and round with STS (directly, there were no companies installing them like TRT at that time) and they refused to admit that there was an issue.
I found an isolator, which is basically a piece of rubber with a threaded screw molded into one end, which I screwed into the back of the car. The other end had a threaded nut molded into it. Neither metal piece touches each other, so there is true rubber isolation of the pump from the car. This simple fix cured the noise completely. Why STS did not implement this is beyond me, it seemed to me that they just did not give a dam about my concerns (or the other early adopters as well). Please note, this is my opinion as an owner and an engineer, it has never been taken to court so should not be taken as an incontrovertible fact.
I saw a pic of the jpg I put in my original thread explaining how to fix the problem this year. If I can find it, I will post it in this thread. My original thread is old by now and certainly vanished into the internet ether.

If you want a different pump, just Google scavenge pump.

those GP-301 pumps have been around for awhile and on different applications. They flow good but can be loud. Mine is a shurflo redesigned with bronze gears and bigger isolators. Its very quiet. You can only feel a slight vibration with the key on.

There is a pump you can pick up at Northern tool for about 70 bucks. Weve used it numerous times for many applications... Turbo oiling, tranny cooler circulation, etc.

I dont think this is the exact one, but it gives an idea...

Thanks all!

Koolaid...great explanation in the other post. My son asked me this morning where the train was inside the car. It was the only thing audible over the exhaust.
