Default New 5 Layer GM Head Gasket's Result's!

To start I have a set of Dartt225's with o-ring's. I purchased a set of the new GM 5 layer gasket's as did Cablebandit and they are completly flat! i went ahead and and installed them with my head's. I asked a bunch of people if they would work and some said yes and some said no,and some havn't even seen them yet! If the gasket was designed any different I would not have installed them, but the top metal gasket is paper thin and under neath that it is recessed just as the old 3 layer gasket is. Anyway, The car is running and no leak's and I am letting it cool down to retorque them and then I will get into some boost with it and find out if they will work or not?So far so good!

Well, I took the car on a drive for about 6 or so mile's down the interstate! The results: No leaking Water or pushing water as of yet!I did about 3 second gear pull's and then about 3 or so 3rd gear pull's shifting into 4th. and so far so good!!!!Still at 18lbs. so all I am hoping is it get's me through this weekend at mississippi!!! I will keep you posted as the more mile's I put on it!

I have ran .040 Cometics with AFR 225 heads with 18 lbs of boost with L-19 head studs and I need to change my gaskets now because I am pushing some water out the over flow when running it hard. I have a set of these 5 layer GM gaskets that I am going to try. I really want a set of the Fel-Pro 6 layer gaskets.

What is the bore of the new gm 5 layer gaskets? I thought the AFR 225s required a very large bore gasket, larger than the gm 5 layer ones?

I think the AFR 225s require a gasket with a minimum bore of 4.135, so not sure the new GM 5 layer gaskets would work in that case unless it's close enough?
