Default STS and Pipes

So, my STS system should FINALLY be getting installed in about two weeks, and I really want to keep the look the back of my car has now...Hooker cat back with 3'' dual/dual tips.

I've seen this done a lot, so I know it's possible, but HOW is it done?

Please only reply to this if you have done it or witnessed it first hand.

Pictures would be GREAT.

Thanks, guys. More are welcome.

I guess my main question is, are the pipes connected to the turbo in any way, or are they just welded to the underside of the car 100% for looks?
