Default sts help

ok just got my car done finally now the car wont boost for nothing.

tell you guys what i got first

sts kit with intercooler from trt build forged motor and all with tune,42 pound injectors, walbro 255 fuel pump.

now when i get on the car i can hear the turbo spool up,but nothing happens no boost what so ever. look at the wastegate its not stuck open.

next day i installed the adjustable boost controller, followed instructions from sts to the tee. now is i turn the **** like alot and i mean alot the car will see like 1 to 1.5 pounds but not until like 6000 rpm what the f*ck is going on? the turbo is spooling up like at 2500rpms is that where i should start to see boost? im not a guru on turbo systems so anything will help out.looking for a quick fix dont wanna take it to a shop only got like 4 weeks left to drive it,plus dnt feel like dumpning more money into until next year.

thanks guys

Where is your boost controller referencing for a boost signal? How do you know for sure you aren't getting boost (boost gauge, scanner)? What size spring do you have in the wastegate?

Also, when I first got my intercooler, I kept popping the charge pipe off whenever it boosted. Then it wouldn't boost since all of the air was just going out to atmosphere.

The BOV may not be stuck open, but are you sure it's getting a proper reference signal? If it's not, it'll open right when the turbo starts to spool.

Definately check your vacc. routing for the BOV and check up and down for leaks on both sides of the turbo to the motor. I had a decent size hole in my exhaust but it was still enough to to spool up the turbo but not create boost.

I would un-install the boost controller for the moment untill you get your boost issue fixed just so you know that you don't have another possible issue with another system.

+11ty billion. I had the same thing happen. Motor was only seeing 1.5-2lbs of boost.

Tightened everything up and it saw 9psi...big diff.

boost controller is from sts hooked it up per the instructions, have a boost gauge hooked up (have a reference block where the BOV,and boost gauge vac lines goes. as far as spring never checked that ordered the 5 pound spring for it when i got the kit.

last night my pipe that goes under the rear control arm blew off,is that signs that its getting boost but like to many leaks?

do you have pics of how you reference everything?cause per sts instructions they show no vac lines from the turbo nor wastegate going to any vac source

The wastegate gets it vacc. form the comp. side of the turbo. Make sure that the nipple on top of the wastegate is venting to atmosphere unless you have the boost controller installed. If it is installed you need to follow the install. pics to the T.

If you hooked everything up as the STS instructions stated you should be good. Make sure that your BOV vacc. source comes off a "T" from the brake booster.

If you blew off one of the pipes/couplers you definately need to check all of your couplers!

If you have a 5 psi spring, and the reference is correct for the wastegate, I would think you have a leak somewhere.

If you hook everything up according to sts instructions, you will probably only see about 3#'s off the wastegate spring, and this will flutter. You REALLY need to reference the wastegate from manifold boost, not the turbo. I am also confident that you have leaks somewhere.

so hey, any of you tell me what the difference is between hooking up the wastegate from the compressor then the intake manifold? just wondering. how does it effect responsiveness?
