Default Any sponsors stock heads ?

OK....

Ive blown it up, and on cyl 3, it had only 15psi compression I only checked left bank. 3 had a melted plug too.
As did all plugs on right bank lol

Engine itself looks fine from above. But on the intake valve seat on cyl 3, there is a chunk of it missing :O

For me to send the heads back to the US for repair, would be costly, as shipping is nuts.

So I am now in the market for new heads. AND, if at all possible, Id still like to try and go racing this weekend.
But this would require the heads to ship on Monday 21st via Fedex or similar FAST service.

So.

Im 383ci, 3.905" bore LS6 block.
I need a chamber anywhere between 65-71cc. Im not fussy. I do want aftermarket heads with a thicker deck, more suited to boost.

That will place me around 9.35:1-8.9:1 CR

Can anyone here help ? Whats going to work best for me ? I was on 215cc Edelbrocks, and they were working very well.

I also have some brand new AFR 72cc 225's sitting in the garage I could ship out to you for $2K plus shipping?

I do think SDPC would have them in stock as well, might be easier for you to whip out the CC.

Thanks Dan....I dont really have any easy way of getting $2k to you, aside from using the card.

Do these have the stock springs, or their upgraded spring package ?

here is the oops... I have only checked this one cylinder...havent bothered with any others. I did also give the valves/seats a little clean with grinding paste before I took the photos. Exhaust seat was totally black, as was the valve before.

Plugs on right cylinder bank ( head damage was on No3 from left bank, its plug was also melted )

Look's a little lean. I would also go with a colder plug to get the electrode down in the plug further!

These are 7's

I have been running this same type of plug for almost 2 years, and this is the 2nd such incident and most severe.
The first incident was a few months ago, when my meth stopped working.

Meth was working here AFAIK. The damage is my fault, and is a tuning issue.

Although I may consider some 8's

I was telling a friend of mine about using meth. When it work's it's good, but if something happen's while using it it would lean the motor out. I have the TR8's in my motor and work great. They seem to like the boost alot better, and daily driving could be alittle better, but I can sactify a little.

For boosted applications like yours check the WARHAWK heads thickness of .75

I'd try the AFR 225's if it was me....when I bust a gasket that's what I'm going to try since you can use the stock rocker arms (can't with TEA Trickflow) and the AFR is 0.75" deck......and kp has proven them at 150mph...lol...

What rocker arms do the Trickflow's require ??

I have the 1.7 YT's which Im blaming for my high rpm troubles, which may or may not be the case.

I also have a set of 1.75 Jesel shaft mount rockers which ive never been able to use yet.

Would either of these work ?

Im not ruling out the AFR's, but the TF's on paper at least, do seem to flow better.

My Edelbock's when everything was working seen me hit 149.3mph on pump fuel/meth and easy 145 on pump only.
This year has just been so troublesome though.

Roller rockers....I would guess Jesel and Harland would work but I'd ask the seller to be sure since I've not used any of them.

Yeah, I have the upgraded springs. I was gonna go with the TFS 245's myself, but if stock type rockers won't work, then thats another $1K I need to spend. I'd love to get the All Pro LSW's, but all said and done I will be close to $6K with Rockers, which makes the AFR's I already have start to look real appealing now .

i think etp/afr/edelbrock/trickflow all have at least .75 deck thickness. Good luck!

Holy god this is hard work....

Only "good" head anyone has in stock so far, is a set of 265cc ET heads, but then that would require new rockers too

Thats stretching things too far, just to be in a hurry.

Most heads are setup for a 4.0" bore or larger....

Is this something I need to be concerned about when choosing ? One has said I'd need to use a 6.0 gasket with such heads.
Is this likely to be more prone to blowing than with a regular small bore setup ?

I use 6ltr head gasket's and work fine with the bigger bore.
