Default piston rings

My engine luck just gets better...first my LS1, then the damn search engine isnt working lol

What pistons rings is everyone here using ? Or recommends ?

I was using the Totalseal gapless 2 piece top ring, with a conventional 2nd ring.

But whilst part of the damage is likely my fault....

Some of the top rings have distorted and are no longer round. They have been heated excessively, likely through detonation Arent I dumb.

But I never really did like them, as they just didnt feel loose enough in the ring groove.

Anyone else tried them ? any thoughts ?

Or what is recommended ?

I just use plain old speed pro plasma moly top, ductile iron 2nd. 326 passes, two years of beating on it weekly, no smoke, no blowby and the car still runs a new best everytime out.

But if you plan on detonating it they are not for you

I am planning on going with Stainless Steel Total Seal top ring and Gapless Total Seal second ring this winter. Sounds like people are having results with this combination.
