Default Procharger J-Bracket Problem

Tensioner Bolt broke off....I tried for a few min to get it out and I will work on it more tom. Anyone have any ideas? If the threads inside are messed up would it be possible to drill it out and re-tap it for a slighly larger diameter bolt? A new bracket from procharger is close to $400

Try welding a nut on the remaining threads sticking out. Then heat the bracket up with a torch, get it hot. With it hot spray some pentetrating oil on the threads and let it soak in to the bracket. Try that a few times. Then heat the bracket up again and try to work the bolt back and forth slowly, trying to unscrew it about a 1/4 turn each time.
It also looks like you need to try to clean the threads up on the end of bolt that hits the tensioner before trying to unthread it through the bracket. Then put a new bolt in (if you get it out) and run a thread chaser through the bracket. Put anti sieze on the new bolt when reinstalling it.

Might be able to take a die grinder with a carbide cutter and and grind off the end of the bolt where it has expanded. This way you wouldn't mess up the threads while your trying to back the bolt out. How in the heck did it snap off like that?

Thanks for the info - you just cured me of the temptation to buy a Procharger.

I had the same thing happen to me when I was trying to put mine back together over the summer. broke off flush. drilled it out and wasn't straight. still couldn't budge it even after it was driled out. I got a new one from procharger but it was a whole lot less than $400. I think it was less than 150 even. But a friend that works at local distributor that deals with procharger got it for me and I didn't think he gave me that much of a deal

Another method that just worked for me the other day was taking my die grinder and cutting a single slot in it and using a scew driver to unscrew the bolt. Good luck.
