Default Compression ratio and heads, couple questions.

I've always heard the 317 6.0L heads drop compression by about 1/2 point. That means on a stock LS1 (assuming the pistons come out .005"), the chamber vloume must be around 70cc, correct?

The 6.0L use the same 3.622 stroke as the 5.7s, so they have a 4" bore (and thus chamber) too, right? Can that be used safely on a LS1 at 10psi or more? What headgaskets would you use?

I'm just brainstorming here, but I figure with a set of 317 heads and some forged -5cc pistons, compression would be right around 9.3:1. What kind of boost could be safely run with that? Intercooled ofcourse, on 93 octane...

Just getting some ideas...anyone wanna shed some light on this or thow out some ideas?

Ok..back to the search page...

We use GM MLS head gaskets and ARP head studs. With good rods and pistons we set them up for 16 psi on quite a few of our builds. Check this one out.
