Default What valve springs are your running for over 600 lift?

Want to buy some new heads soon, leaning to afr 225 and not sure if should get their upgraded spring option or get the new patriot extreme set or mabye some comp 921 or something. Cam I am leaning to has like 630 and 640 lift.

So want some springs that are going to do the job ,very unlikely would rev the car past 6500 max maybe even a bit less since going 408. Car is not race car but do hit near redline pretty often on the street in the lower gears.

So two questions..what springs will do the job and can I expect to see 5 years maybe at 5000 a year out of them. I refuse to change springs every year just not feasible.

There are basically 4 springs in use now, the uncoated base spring that AFR uses as their spring. The "Gold" coated version of that spring that so many people have used over the last 4 years, which tests at 140/360 lbs, the new extreme springs that some call the Platinum which test at 160/400 lbs, the Max Pressure springs that the TFS heads come standard with that test at 160/440 lbs, and it is the same as the AFR 8019 upgrade springs.

The key to making any of them live is to not run a ton of cam lobe acceleration or lift, and you don't need either with a boosted application. You can make 1000+ HP with .600" lift...

I'm using PRC double springs with an MS4 cam, .649/.609" lift. I turn it to 6800 rpm. I'm not f.i. tho.

Good info Brian. I need to check my own AFR's since they been sitting in the box now for like over a year. I take it you want the best possible seat pressure with FI right? So is the 8019 ok to use or would a better spring be recomended? What hydrolic lifters and timing chain would be good to handle the higher seat pressure?
