What is a solid mid 140 trapping car setup?
Car would be a 98-2001 z28 M6. It would be a daily driver ac,ps not gutting and mid 140 would be on a race gas setting. But I would like mid 130's on pump gas. What would be a good setup? 408 with t76 or t88? 370 with t76 or t88? if that was your goal what would you build? I am a roll racer so it doesn't have to be proven at the track but be able to take on bikes from a roll that are that fast.

Mine isnt the same car...but I can easily run 140+ on pump fuel, 3600lbs weight..
Old setup was 382, WCCH Edelbrock heads, 224/230 cam Vortech YSi blower etc etc etc. A relatively mild easy to drive setup ( OZ700 clutch )
A 408 with a decent size turbo should be able to do it with ease ( traction permitting, although Id say a centrifugal is a lot easier in terms of traction ) )
With a lot of problems fixed....Im hoping for 150+ this year. Setup is very similar....just some Trickflow heads and EPP's camshaft. Valvespring isues were killing me last year though, although I was still hitting 140's

346 or 370 cid @ 8.5/1
Mildly ported stock heads (~280 cfm)
224/230-114 cam
T-76GTS
Large intercooler
K.I.S.S.
I believe you could get mid 140's at 16-18 psi, maybe less, on pump gas with this combo.

I don't see why you couldn't easily do it on stock cubes...Theres a 76GTS 355 LT1 in a full weight 6 speed car doing I believe 145 on race gas. It is a goal of mine, but at the rate I am going, unless I can find someone to finish my LT1 PTK setup for a decent price, it won't happen for a long time.

Dude for real. His car is my dream car. Flawless looking, Full weight, full street trim, non spooled, 150+ trapping car. I want the 6 speed but I dunno. After seeing his car go from the 6 speed to the auto (4l80e?), it's kinda hard to opt for the 6 speed.

Than you get guys like MM that has a full weight street car that car drive it around town, to the track and home while running very low 9's(high 8's next year ) on street radials. Talk about kickass You wouldn't catch me on a crotch rocket riding around for near as long as one of these built beast sreet/strip cars!
