I'm going to try the mt radial pro 275's to allow me to actually utilize the trans brake to leave on some real boost. The combo is a little lazy until 8psi, so traction is my biggest concern.
Once I get the 60's in line, the times will come.

good goals Jim
you'll probably be faster than 8.99s by the time you get to 125 mph in the 1/8 though

heres a couple of mine from this week.

Thanks Sam.
I want to focus on the first half of the track this year and sort the suspension out, the backhalf is just horespower.
I'm trying to follow your lead, but with a bit more weight...
The rear end and disc brakes will probably add 150lbs....

Back from the dead....

I got in a few more track days, and the combo is coming together well.
I love the spool at the track, and the new Baer rear discs are incredible!
No 8's yet, but I did manage a 9.125 et at 148.35 with 1.3x 60 foots all day.
Not bad for a 3,525lb setup with less than 20 passes on it.

Wheels UP !!!

Looking good, I am planning on doing a similar setup on my 80 Z28 with an LQ4 but i am trying to do a twin setup with A/C. I like how you set your car up it gave me a lot of good ideas.

Nice to see you are finally getting to enjoy your hard work. Nice clean setup you have there. Good luck next year on your 8 second goal.

Thanks guys.
I'm only at 22psi, so a couple more psi will get me in the 8's for sure.
I bet the LSA heads will hold 28psi or so with a safe tune.
I will set up the holley boost control over the winter as well as make the move from 120lb to 160lb injectors. Also, the fuel supply to the pump is causing a drop in pressure about 1sec into the run, so l have to address that. It was fine until l started getting low 1.3 60ft times.

Great meeting you, and your truck is killer!
Thanks for the compliments, this car has been a fight, tooth and nail. It was awesome getting to the track 3 weeks in a row to finish the year.
And NO BREAKAGE!!!
After looking at my logs, l uncovered a fuel supply issue that kept me out of the 8's.
I have to decide on either a cable driven fuel pump drive or a front cell to keep the current belt pump primed.
We will both have our 8's in the spring!

Jim, I too switched over to a belt drive pump for next year, what I did was leave my electric pump in the car a tee'd it in after the belt drive and before the fuel rails. I have no track testing yet but hoping this will take care of any pressure drop issues on launch.

For my fuel concern I am going to add a another a1000 pump. I have #10 line up to the rails, I start running lean just past 1/8, fuel pressure looks ok but afr starts 11.5 and climbs to 15 it starts to pop and break up so I lift. If you have any other ideas lets hear them. stock 6.0, cam, twin 72s e85 12 psi 3200 pounds 9.11 at 136 and it has been 9.90 149 mph if you leave easy them push it hard .

What do you have for a return line? It is odd that your afr drifts lean at the end of a pass, but the fuel pressure is good.
I would like to see the tune and a log of a pass to see what's going on, even though I remember you saying that the fuel pressure wasn't logged.
Data is everything, and it would be a great tool to be able to log, AFR, fuel press., timing, RPM, and boost. Otherwise you are flying blind as far as dialing in the tune.

So you have two pumps feeding in parallel, so you have two big feed lines?

-10 feeds the belt drive, -6 from the trunk mounted electric to the Y just before the rails with a one way valve.

The electric is pretty much just to prime for quicker start ups and I will kick it on at the track if I see any lose of pressure on launch so I don't see any need for a big feed line on it. Im not trying to run the motor at full tilt on just the electric.

Got you, it was just the first I've read about someone doing that. Any pics of the belt drive mounted? I just bought one myself, the mini bertha from waterman. I think I might convert it to a cable drive though.

Holy thread revival!!!!

Thanks for the interest.
The car was down for 2016, (very long story...) but is back together with a new fuel system.
I made the plunge to a dual fuel system, and will be running pump gas on the primary injectors and e85 or methanol on the secondary injectors.
The availability of e85 made it a PITA to drive, so the dual fuel setup will allow me to drive the car much more as it will only use the good fuel when I am leaning on it.
I also ditched the intercooler to free up some weight.

8's or bust this year!!!
I will post up results in the spring.

Jim

Jim, I look at your thread often, I am using your build as a model for my build, have just started smoothing the CTS-V manifolds like you did. Hope to start reassembling the front sub-frame this weekend and make it a roller again. Found some S366's with 91 A/R on ebay, are these what you used ?

Watched the vid, didn't know NHRA issued pilot's license's as well. WoW

Good Luck on the 8's will be waiting for that post when it happens.

Al
