Default STS stock bottom end: 243's or 317's?

Ok, here's the scenerio. Stock LS6 crate engine, bolt-ons (except going back to manifolds), adding STS. Do I keep the 243's that are on there and upgrade the springs or do I buy a set of stock 317's with Comp 918's already installed for about the same price it would be to do the spring upgrade on the 243's? What do you guys think? Thanks!

Good to know! What springs would you recommend? Will a fresh set of LS6's be ok, or should I step up to a 918 or Patriot Gold? Thanks again!

i'm running 243's with no problems, just be sure your tune is good. I would go with dual springs just to be safe as well....

317's all the way, adds some safety margine. I'd go stronger then the 918 springs personally, but that's because I floated the valves on my 918's at higher boost.

Thanks for the info guys! I think I'll stick with the 243's for now. I've got another block in the garage. I'll save up and build a forged shortblock with some ported heads. As far as springs, I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
