Default F-2 blower to big for a 408?

I have a F1-A the moment but I have the opportunity to upgrade to a
F-2 if I were to go ahead and run the F-2 would I have to run a cog system or is an 8rib up to the challenge?

My goal is to break 900whp what I have is a 408 with a CR of 9.6 cometic head gaskets studded all the way around with Callies rods and crank Diamond pistons and the crank is keyed, but my heads are stock 6.0

Any info would be great thanks everyone

The f1a will make the power your want, it just will have to have optimal componets and high boost.

A f2 will most likely take less power to spin at that level and make the same hp. It is a much larger unit, and will take a custom bracket. I would not even try a 8rib with this, you will get carried away and crank that boost up

A custom 12rib or cog would be the best best, we all know a f2 is not a daily driver unit.

F1R should be the right head unit for what he wants to do, right? Brackets are already there and you dont have to deal with the extra head unit size in a tight engine bay.

A f1a will do it no problems, a f1c would be the biggest i would go with A2A. The f1r will make a bit of heat cranked up so get ready for the W2A ic.

F2, damn, there are quite a few on this forum that run a 408 with a D-1 and make 750rwhp with ease so I think a F1a would suffice easily for that power level you want

So how much boost can i run with an 8 rib on the F2 before I run into problems?

You can't spin a F2 with a 8 rib-at least not enough to make it worth running.

I made 914rwhp on a 402 with only 14.5 lbs of boost with a F1A. I did turn the boost up more but never dynoed it again before I pulled the motor. I am building a LSX 427 now and plan on staying with the F1A.

We will be tuning in this 402/F1A in the next several days, it has a six speed so it should make good numbers. http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com...Car.php?car=29 Bob

Aint that the truth. I have never personally seen a f2 with a 8rib setup so i would not know. But a bigger wheel and different impeller pitch would make things alot worse for belt traction with a 8rib.

Funny you ask, we have been throwing around the idea of figuring out a 12rib setup for Bobs race car. Spring loaded is a MUST in a situation like this. There is a bit more to it then just changing crank pulleys, its a whole new system per say. Its a in-the-works status right now
