best P/A for ls powered small AWD suv?
this would be on a very street friendly stock ls engine in a 3900# automatic trans all wheel drive vehicle.
positive displacement blower (need to be reminded of the options)
OR
t-76
the reasons i'm even considering the blower is because of the snappyness it would provide for stop and go traffic, in addition to the ability to have one without worries of hood or cowl clearance problems
i would stick around the 600 awhp mark to keep the stock engine alive long as possible.

David,
In the application I believe you are referring to, you'll be very challenged by the exhaust plumbing, especially on the driver's side. Custom fabricated long tube headers for the blower would be a nightmare. With that consideration in mind, a larger turbo positioned on the passenger side, or smaller twins (so you can get past the propshaft) are most appealing. I'm not sure if you've coil-overed your front end, but that gets rid of the torsion bars and opens up a bit more clearance for the exhaust.

thanks for the heads up rob.. it is a very good point i hadnt considered headers needed on a s/c application, but i fathom if all else failed i could Y the exhaust ahead of the engine as if i was doing a turbo exept not have one, merge at the passenger side front and head on out the passenger side

David,
LS2/LS3 C6 'Vette manifolds look promising for twins if you flip them upside down and facing forward. (Depending on your accessory set-up, CTS-V manifolds might also work in the same configuration.) Hydroboost brakes, aftermarket steering shaft and coil-overs should buy you the clearance you'll need without tons of fabrication. You can "Y" the exhaust under the bellhousing and run a single exhaust along the passenger side, or snake a dual along the driver's side past the transfer case like JS did on his TY. (SY requires relocating the fuel tank for duals.)
