Question Anyone ever used the GREEN Gates belt for their SC? Supposed to be HD belt....?.?.?

Just curious... Napa has a HD line of belts that are green instead of black that claim to be HD. They say they are used mainly by heavy haulers... big rigs.

Anyone tried one or should I stick to the regular ole' black Gates belt?

I am using one on my Lightning. It was double the price of the regular belt but didn't have anywhere near the stretch of a regular belt which was good. The biggest problem I had with it was that it glazed over very quickly on the outside causing it to squeal. I bought it to try out with a manual belt tensioner and it is as tight as the day I put it on a few months back and I have zero slip with it.

I thought I was the only one.... lol.

Ive been using one for a while.. but wondered if the black was better. I decided to go with the green again and I have the same findings.... they are STIFF.. which means less "growing" or stretching over time, and I have this thing torqued down pretty hard. I dont have any squeeling though... then again my belt only rides on two idlers.

I was just curious if anyone else had tried them.

I bought one this week to replace the two year old Gates belt that I have on my A&A Vortech kit.

Stiff belts won't grip as well-run the softest belt you can find to make the most boost-when it stretches replace it-simple as that.

or get the SDCE setup and never worry about belt slip or tearing belts up again
