Default heres a dumb ?? any one ever run boost to a stock V6 fbody? 3800?

what happens? how do they perform? i remember the 1989 TTA doing very well as a stock 3.8 turbo, like low 13s stock as a heavy *** thirdgen, just wondering how the same concept would react in a late model 3800 f body

I know a guy that is supercharging his 99 3.8 firebird. He is running 6lb's on his application and should be done with the install in the next couple of days. Ill let you guys know how it runs, we are going to run them, so we will see how he matches up.

We had a guy bring a used STS kit in and we put it on his V-6 Firebird. We picked up 88rwhp with 5.5psi.

Tim King has run 8s with a 3800 V6, twin turbo in a 3200lb firebird. Pretty impressive to say the least..

my buddy had a 2000 v6 camaro with a supercharger. he went 12s i think. he wrecked the car, sold that set up and now is wrapping up a turbo project. we'll see what it yields in the coming months.

It has been done. A basic turbo setup will probably be as quick as a stock ls1, but as with anything with enough money anything can haul ***.

I ran a Powerdyne kit on my car for a while and ran mid 13's with it through the stock torque converter on about 11 psi. That was before I did the LS1 swap. The iron 3800 is pretty stout. And there is tuning software for it now too. When I did it, I was struggling with a maf translator for tuning.

15psi for over a year now...T72 turbo...bone stock motor....what would ya like to know

P.S....Meth isnt hooked up yet....have been 15psi without the meth.

The supercharger kits for our cars do not perform nearly as well as when they are turboe'd, or put out close to identical numbers.

check out the video in my profile...the SRT-8 Jeep ran a 12.7 @ 108...I ran that a week after the video was made from a 40 roll.....by 115 where we shut down I had 3 cars on it still pulling hard...and they pulled me instantly 2 cars from the 40 roll to about 65....

Grand national has intake, headers, exhaust, boosted stock turbo, MT drag radials and some other things...30K origional miles....origional owner of the car.

To answer your question. Yes there are a number of turbo charged V6's running around. I made 330 RWHP on a stock engine with my first turbo kit. I then added a cam and valve train, and made 400. I blew the engine and now i have a fully built and ported setup making over 500 RWHP (soon to be a lot more). Six speed inc recently finished converting a T56 setup because i keep breaking T5's.

The guy you are talking about that runs 8's is a shop built car. Not trying to take anything away from him, it's an amazing car.

Here is my latest dyno:

Short clip before the T56 was put in.

Yes, except i had a minor hand in the T56. Six speed inc did 90% of the work.
