Default What Piston Rings to Run / Gap? TT Set Up

Ok I'm rebuilding my LS1 347 forged motor in my 99 FRC C5 and was wondering what is the best piston ring to run for the money and what gap. I could not tell what kind of rings I had but the gaps were top 24-26 and 2nd 28-30. By the way, I'm running 9:1 compression with 317 heads, diamond forged pistons and compstar 6.125" forged rods.

I had the same situation come up about a month ago. I had/have mahle flat top pistons in my motor with -2cc valve reliefs in them. I ended up just getting the same rings that the pistons originally came with and had my engine builder file the rings for the specified gap for boost. Can't tell you what they were, but if I were you I'd call up Diamond and give them your part number and just use the rings that came with those pistons and gap them accordingly. If you don't go that route, I'd heard good things about Total Seal rings or Hellfire, they just cost nearly twice as much as the Mahle replacements I ordered in.
