Default 38mm WG...need help on BOV

Hey have a 38mm tial WG searched that that would be fine for me (or at least i interperated it as it would be...) anyways have a TC76 on a 346ci with 317 heads on a stock cam. was reading that i would need a 50mm BOV....going to try and explain it the way im reading it, for low boost numbers you need to order a larger one to allow it to bleed off more air quickly, and when running bigger boost you need a smaller one, am i right on that?

have a .6 baro spring on the WG but dont know what spring size to get on the BOV, i know you do it off based on intake vacuum....but i dont know what that is on a stock car.

help me out, i'm pretty sure i'm screwing up alot of information

You need a bigger Waste Gate. I have the same 38mm tial and have boost creep bad by atleast 3 psi. It wont controll the boost at high levels. I also have a GTS 76 turbo.

More boost - less gate
Less boost - more gate

If you are looking at the Tial 50 - I would go with the 7psi spring, you can order it with the gate or afterwards...I usually go heavier (11psi) and it works fine, also it is easier to hear it surge once then leak for months...

you want the 11 psi spring in the bov. tial suggest the 11 psi spring for engines with vacum around 19-21 psi , which a ls1 is.

You already know you need the 44 gate.

Good luck, Chris

If it has a cam in the engine it will not see 19-21 inches of vaccume. I usually go with a smaller psi spring in the bov.
